Raj Kumar/Ranchi: Eastern Command, Brahmastra Corps and Division has risen to the clarion call in Fight Against COVID-19 as part of ‘Whole of the Govt’ approach by augmenting the civilian health care infrastructure in the states of Jharkhand, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in terms of Military Doctors, Paramedics, Support Staff and associated equipment.
As part of assistance to Civil Administration, Ranchi in the FightAgainstCOVID-19, Military Hospital Namkum, Ranchi supported by Cockerel Division and BrahmastraCorps operationalized a 50 Bed COVID care facility for civilians on 27 Apr 2021.
This facility was established in response to the requisition for medical assistance made by Civil Administration, Ranchi. Modalities for this facility were discussed earlier in two coordination meetings chaired by Hemant Soren, Chief Minister of Jharkhand with a team of Army Officials led by General Officer Commanding Cockerel Division on behalf of Panagarh based Brahmastra Corps.
The nomination, screening and admission process ever since the facility commenced operations incorporating the civil administrative and Army officials has been functioning smoothly without any glitches drawing praise not only from the Jharkhand civil administration but also scores of local individuals and organizations.
Presently, about 45 civilians are undergoing treatment at Military Hospital, Namkum while an equal number have been discharged after successfully recovering from COVID-19.
