Five-day online training on ICT to begin at BAU on May 4

Ranchi, Rajkumar : May 3: Birsa Agricultural University (BAU), Ranchi is organizing online off-campus training programme on ‘ICT
and Mass Media in Agricultural Extension’ in collaboration with National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad from May 04-08.

BAU Vice Chancellor Dr Onkar Nath Singh, will be the Chief Guest of the inaugural session on May 4.

Dr MS Yadava, Dean Agriculture, BAU will be the Special Guest and Dr P Chandra Shekhara, Director General,
MANAGE, Hyderabad will be the Guest of Honour.

Altogether 89 participants from twenty states namely, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana,
Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab,
Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telengana, Uttarakhand , Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal have been selected for the event. Two persons from International Rice Research Institute, Manila are also
participating.

Dr BK Jha, Training Coordinator of the programme informed that topics of the training programme include general concept on ICT and Mass Media, Sensing Technologies, Internet of Things (IoTs), Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Social Media, e-Commerce, NCDEX and
e-NAM, IVRS and SMS Gateway, Remote Sensing and GIS, Management Information System, Expert and Decision Support System, Community Radio, and Social Dimensions and life skills relevant for Information Technology.

Resource persons have been invited from CDAC, Kolkata; CDAC, Noida; CDAC, Pune; MANAGE, Hyderabad, NRRI, Cuttack, Odisha and BHU, Varanasi. Besides these resource persons Scientists of BAU, Ranchi and XLRI consultant will also conduct the classes.

The programme will be conducted online on Webex Platform of MANAGE, Hyderabad. Sri Bhaskar Gujji, Senior Assistant Director of MANGE will coordinate the programme from MANAGE
side.
