Newly constructed bridge over Bakra river in Bihar's Araria collapses

In the Araria district of Bihar, on Tuesday, a section of a recently built bridge across the Bakra river collapsed in Pararia hamlet. Police said there have been no reports of casualties from the event. Social media users have been sharing videos of the collapsing bridge.

The bridge linked the Araria district's Kursa Kanta and Sikti neighborhoods. The state government just finished building it. But since there were no approach roads built to the bridge, it had not yet been opened. Officials have arrived at the scene of the event to investigate, according to Superintendent of Police (SP), Araria, Amit Ranjan.

A section of a recently built bridge across the Bakra River has fallen. In an interview with news agency PTI, the SP stated, "Officers have traveled there to look into the situation.

In the meantime, Sikti MLA Vijay Kumar blamed the tragedy on the owner of the construction company in an interview with news agency ANI. He declared: "The proprietor of the construction business was negligent, which is why the bridge fell. We insist that an inquiry be carried out by the administration.

This most recent instance occurred after the collapse of a bridge under construction over the Kosi River in the Supaul area in March of this year. Ten people were injured and one person died in the Supaul bridge collapse.
