Chennai's Vels University awarded Ram Charan an honorary doctorate. A number of the actor's fan accounts released updated photos of him on Saturday, showing him accepting an honorary degree and serving as chief guest at the graduation ceremony.

A recent video that the actor's fan pages on X posted shows Ram Charan accepting the award on stage from the chief guest and other honorary university employees. Ram Charan made his film debut in 2007 in Chirutha. Over the course of his career, he has since directed a number of popular movies, including Magadheera, Yevadu, and Dhruva. His SS Rajamouli-directed film RRR was widely praised and went on to win the Oscar for Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu. For his body of work, Ram has won South Indian International Movie Awards, Filmfare Awards, and Nandi Awards.

Alongside Ram at the ceremony were Dr. P Veeramuthuvel, Project Coordinator, Chandrayaan, ISRO; Dr. GSK Velu, Founder and CMD of Trivitron Healthcare; and table tennis star Achanta Sharath Kamal, recipient of the Padma Shri award.
