Tamil actor Daniel Balaji dies of heart attack in Chennai

Daniel Balaji, an actor well known for his roles in Tamil and Malayalam movies, passed away in Chennai. The actor passed away on Friday night at a private hospital in Kottivakam, the city, from a heart attack, according to India Today. Daniel was 48 years old and went by the stage name TC Balaji.

The actor reportedly complained of chest trouble on Friday and was taken to the hospital immediately. Following the death, his remains were brought to his Purasaiwalkam home for last ceremonies. Both his followers and the Tamil film industry were taken aback by his passing.

Mohan Raja, Daniel Balaji fans pay him tribute

Director Mohan Raja wrote a note on X and paid homage to Balaji. He shared a tweet saying, "Such sad news." I was inspired to enroll in the film institute by him. a truly wonderful friend. I enjoy working with him. I hope his soul is at peace. #Danielbalaji RIP.

About his work

Daniel Balaji started out in Kamal Haasan's unreleased film Marudhunayagam as a unit production manager. In Chithhi, directed by Radikaa Sarathkumar, he played Daniel in his debut television role.

April Madhathil, his first Tamil film, was released in 2022. He acted in multiple Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada films in addition to Tamil ones. He was a member of Kaadhal Kondein as well.

Daniel Balaji's first significant role was as Suriya's partner in Kaakha Kaakha as a police officer. The director of the movie was Gautham Vasudev Menon. In the popular movie Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, he costarred with Kamal Haasan as Amudhan.

In addition, the actor acted in Muthirai, Chirutha, and Polladhavan. He appeared in both Bhagavan and Black, his first Malayalam film. He was last seen in Ariyavan, directed by Mithran R. Jawahar, in 2023.
