IPL 2024 MI vs CSK Highlights : CSK won by 20 runs

IPL 2024 MI vs. CSK Highlights: Batting first against the Mumbai Indians, the Chennai Super Kings reached 206/4 in 20 overs at the Wankhede Stadium thanks to an incredible late surge from MS Dhoni and solid half-centuries from Shivam Dube and Ruturaj Gaikwad. With an opening partnership of 70 runs off 43 balls from Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, MI got off to a spectacular start in the chase. After taking Kishan's wicket to break the stand, Matheesha Pathirana removed Suryakumar Yadav for a duck in the ninth over.

Then, MI received a lift from a 60-run partnership between Rohit and Tilak Varma, which helped them get back on track. Once more, Pathirana struck, dismissing the other in the fourteenth over to put CSK back in the lead. After that, Mumbai was never able to recover, as Pathirana removed Romario Shepherd in the 18th over to complete his four-wicket haul. MI lost by 20 runs despite Rohit's century, which he achieved on 105 off 63 balls without losing.

Earlier, Hardik Pandya's dismissal of Daryl Mitchell off the second ball of the last over appeared to have sufficiently retreated MI to keep CSK below 200. Dhoni, though, left the field and hit the first three balls he faced for sixes. After that, he raced two off the final ball to end with an absurd four-ball score of 20, or a 500 strike rate. Dube was at the other end, scoring 66 off 38 balls to finish unbeaten after dominating the most of the CSK innings.

Pandya dismissed Ruturaj Gaikwad in the 16th over, putting an end to the havoc that he and Dube, his opposite number, had unleashed. Gaikwad and Dube shared a third-wicket stand of 69 runs in 40 balls, which placed Chennai Super Kings ahead. In just 28 deliveries, Dube scored his half-century, and the stand was worth 90 runs in 45 balls.
