Users of X (previously Twitter) experienced a temporary outage on Thursday. There was a technical problem preventing several users from accessing the website. Users reported being unable to access the platform, according to Downdetector, which identifies and analyzes online outages and issues. Many bewildered internet users flocked to the microblogging platform shortly after the outage and inquired as to whether X was malfunctioning.
Some chose to go the humorous route and cracked a few jokes about it, while others inquired as to if the platform was down.
This comes after a brief, hour-long outage that affected the Meta-owned services WhatsApp and Instagram earlier this month. During a major outage in March, users of Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Threads reported being unable to access the apps for almost two hours.
