Meet Prafulla Dhariwal: Pune boy praised by OpenAI’s Sam Altman for GPT-4o role

Prafulla Dhariwal, a research scientist at OpenAI, was commended by CEO Sam Altman, who also gave him credit for helping to create GPT-4o, saying that the Pune boy's “vision, talent, conviction, and determination” were essential to its success. The core of the flagship product, ChatGPT-4, has been changed to become GPT-4o.

Prafulla Dhariwal discussed the debut on X (formerly Twitter), writing, "The first model to emerge from the omni team is OpenAI's first natively completely multimodal model, which is called GPT-4o (o for "omni"). Although the entire organization put a lot of work into this launch, I want to personally thank a handful of my amazing team members for helping to make this amazing model a reality.

"GPT-4o would not have happened without the vision, talent, conviction, and determination of @prafdhar over a long period of time," Sam Altman wrote in response to Prafulla Dhariwal's article. that, together with the efforts of numerous others, produced what, hopefully, will be a revolution in computer usage.
